Autoimmunity Originates in the Gut

The global prevalence of autoimmune conditions such as type-1 diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and celiac disease has increased rapidly over the most recent decades. These types of diseases are no longer extremely rare; they are starting to become quite common. Chances are you know at least one person who’s got an immune system that has spun out of control and has for some reason started attacking some of the tissues that make up the eukaryotic organism it is a part of; a process or condition referred to as autoimmunity.
